Summary of Role:

CVD Principal Equipment Engineer at Fab 9, Essex Junction, VT. This engineer will own the daily performance of a diverse set of deposition equipment types and set the strategic plan for improvements and new equipment. This is a fully onsite position, working Monday through Friday, daytime hours, with some weekend or evenings as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate daily with maintenance technicians and process engineers to meet production demands
  • Drives continuous improvement projects with respect to equipment availability, cost reduction, and yield improvement
  • Establish and manage the spare parts to meet repair budgets
  • Supports cross functional problem solving, involving facilities, maintenance and process engineering
  • Works with procurement and suppliers to select strategic equipment and ensure continuity of spare part supply and quality
  • Manage installation and startup of new or retrofit equipment
  • Mentor and lead lower-level equipment engineering team members

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
  • Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Education –Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering field plus 4-5 years relevant experience OR Masters degree plus 2-4 years relevant experience OR PhD plus 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Understanding of and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Understanding of pumps, high vacuum systems and Rf generators
  • Problem solving and communication of action plans
  • Travel - Up to 10%
  • Fluency in English Language – both written & verbal
  • Physical Capacity Demands – Ability to lift and carry parts up to 30 lbs. Stand, or bend and crouch to inspect, or work on equipment in the clean room for extended periods of time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning & organizational skills
  • Basic data analysis experience
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, equipment and clean room facilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supplier and contractor management
  • PLC, control systems and instrumentation
  • Project management and communication of plans

Expected Salary Range

$85,000.00 - $146,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
